Well...
Lets see - where do I begin? How about with the statement " You have a bumpy road ahead ". Those are the words passed down from my surgeon by the nurse today.
Why?
Because my thyroid (TSH)from yesterday came back TOO LOW?! @ 1.3 now were all puzzled because remember the mess up ( not having my thyroid pills for 2 weeks ) that led to my devistation when I found out my levels were too high @ 8. whatever - 4 weeks ago?!
Ugh... Ive been so diligent about taking my meds. 200mcg Levoxyl and 12.5mg of Cytomel - my two longtime thyroid meds.
So why is it low? No idea?!
*** UPDATED FROM MY PRE OP APT ON 3/13/09 MY TSH WAS NOT 1.3 as stated above. IT IN FACT WAS 0.13 which is even more of a SUPRISE AND DISMAY OF THE TEAM WORKING WITH IT - WE WILL RE EVALUATE THIS PRIOR TO SURGERY ***
When M ( thats the Nurse Practitioner ) called this morning she asked if T ( other nurse ) called me yet. I said No. She then informed me that my TSH was back and shes concerned because its too low. Puzzling, but low. She said if she had to guess it would be about 6-8 from a new dose before we could think about surgery. To check with me Endo, and she would check with the surgeon and see what he wants to do - She would call me Monday.
20 minutes later she calls back, apologizes for letting me down and tells me she talked to Dr. Spitz and he said the thyroid is an issue but we can work on it in the mean time - " mean time of what I asked - " SURGERY!!!! He will approve my surgery to be done, and said that this bumpy road will just be a little rougher while we figure out with the help of my Endo, as to whats up with my thyroid.
So there you have it...
I will have a date next week. But for now its looking like 27th-ISH of this month.
I am over the moon, and so glad ive pressed forward. Its been a trip thats for sure... Im just waiting to see that green light - and the ONE WAY sign!
