Yesterday Today and Tomorrow

Welcome once again to a re-done reorganized blog... big changes in store.

Origininally a few years ago I started this blog through a hard time, evolved it into a family blog, and now will reclaim this as primarily my blog.

It is truely my Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

The man I love, and was married to for close to 10 years has again decided to leave us. So with this please deal with me as we transition and find our wings.

Please keep any and all comments nice - as I do not have hard feelings at this time to him - only confusion, frustration and hurt.

Keep reading - this will be great therapy!!

WLS : My Schedule

I got an email from a friend. She wanted to know why I always post about " Not fitting my food, water and vitamins in ". She wanted to know what my problem is?!
I replied to her and at first I was hurt but then I thought about it... You know I bet for some of you on the outside it is hard to think about.
When you hear someone say " They cant get enough water in " your first thought is DRINK.
When you hear me say " I cant eat enough or my 6 meals " your first thoughts are .. ha why complain?!
When you hear me say " The day goes too fast to squeeze it all in and then I miss my vit's " you think - " How hard can it be?! "..

So I thought some of you might like this.

Key points :
Drinking : I NEED at LEAST 80oz a day of water ( normal people need 30oz max! ). Thats 10 cups of water. Ok so it doesnt sound bad... but try squeezing all that down a pouch that is no bigger than a hard boiled egg! Not drinking for at least 30min after food. And NEVER drinking with food! AND NEVER EVER GULPING OR DRINKING FAST!!! Kinda puts it in perspective?!

Eating: I NEED to eat 6 times a day of approx 4oz a meal because my system no longer absorbs all the nutrients. I can be expected to absorb about 1/2 of what I eat. I cant eat more than 100 calories a meal in 4oz ( 1/2 cup total intake ) right now.

Time : It all takes time! 30 minutes to eat. Wait 30min after eating to drink. Take 4 vitamins a day but no closer than 2 hours to each other.

Amounts : Go look to see how much 1/4 and 1/2 cup REALLY are. Pour out 20 ounces and time yourself 1 sip every 15 seconds or so ( 1 sip is about an ounce ). Try to spend 30min. eating that 1/2 cup of whatever.... slow small bites.

Its really hard! I cant just eat. I dont get hungry. I cant just fill my thurst... Its all about routine.

So here is my current Schedule :

8:00-9:00am : Wake up and take crushed Thyroid pills.
wake up-10:00 : Goal of 14 ounces of fluid ( I cant chug. Slow sips only)
10:00-10:30 : Eat Breakfast ( think 1 egg w/ salsa scrambled ) & Crushed Biotin
1o:30-11:00: NO FOOD NO WATER
11:00-12:00: Goal of 12 ounces of fluid - sips only
12:00-12:30: Eat Lunch ( think 1/4 can tuna w/ fat free mayo ) & Vit + Iron (2)
12:30 - 1:00: NO FOOD NO WATER
1:00-2:00: Goal of 20 ounces of fluid* - sips only
2:00 - 2:30: Each 2nd Lunch ( think 1/2 a Light Yogurt ) & Calcium Chews (2)
2:30-3:00: NO FOOD NO WATER
3:00-4:00: Goal of 20 ounces of fluid* - sips only
4:00-4:30: Eat Snack ( think string cheese OR hard boiled egg )& Vit + B-12 (2)
4:30-5:00: NO FOOD NO WATER
5:00-6:00: Goal of 12 ounces of fluid
6:00-6:30: Eat Dinner ( think 1/4 cup chicken & 1/4 cup veggies )
6:30-7:00: NO FOOD NO WATER
7:00-8:00: Goal of 12 ounces of fluid
8:00-8:30 : Eat Bedtime Snack ( think 1/2 cup of shredded chicken/cheese OR 1/2 yogurt )
8:30-9:00: NO FOOD NO WATER
9:00 - Until Bed = DRINKS, SUGAR FREE POPCICLE, WATER, etc.

If I was good at this schedule it would afford me all 6 meals and a nice reserve of 90 ounces of liquid. Ha -- it rarely happens like this but in theory this is how it NEEDS to be!
* I aim for more liquid here because usually my meals are softer allowing my pouch to be completely empty.

Now.... Add a 2 year old, a husband, a house and a life in there and it makes it awefully hard to stick to a ridgid routine. Hence how I often fail to meet each meal ( some vit's ) and most of my water. Its much harder than it looks.
Any questions? comments? ideas? Im listening....
